“On the third floor of Carver Hall, the Iowa State University Department of Theatre bustles quietly but with a mission, a new mission to turn progress into breakthroughs and students into lifelong artists.

With the semester coming to a close, the work is only beginning in the theater department. Empowered by a new director, funding and professors, ISU Theatre is rebranding themselves as an inclusive space where the community can come together and learn about new ideas. Not only that, through the Transforming Liberal Arts and Sciences Fund the program has new resources to make it happen.”

“He’s giving us this wonderful lesson in history but he’s also looking ahead. With a sense of urgency,” Oman said.

Sasse then talked about what he calls “bad actors” waiting to take our place as global leaders if we are to pull back. Countries like China and Russia were very high on his list.

“When America chooses to lead, peace and prosperity, liberty and dignity will inevitably follow, not immediately follow, inevitably follow,” Sasse said, closing out his remarks.”
